On October 31st, BYD’s premium Denza brand released official interior images of its new mid-to-large sedan, the Denza Z9, via official media channels. The presale price is set between 339,800 to 419,800 yuan (47,700 USD to 58,900 USD). The official launch is scheduled for the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
The new model boasts advanced features such as extreme steering, compass-like U-turns, and crab-walking capabilities. In addition to the Denza Z9, the 2024 models of the new Denza N9 and the 2024 Denza N7 are expected to be unveiled.
More on the Denza Z9
The Denza Z9’s design follows the Denza Z9 GT’s overall styling with minor adjustments. The dashboard features straight lines with chrome accents and wood grain details. The interior includes a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, and large control screens for both center vehicle and front passenger. A key difference from the Denza Z9 GT is the column-style gear selector.
In the rear, the Z9 offered rear entertainment screens and fold-out tables. Adjustable leg rests are also available in rear seats. The car measures at 5220/1990/1500 mm, with a 3125 mm wheelbase. For reference, the Z9 GT measures at 5180/1990/1480 mm.
The Denza Z9 retains the closed front grille design with split headlights and an exaggerated lower air intake. The all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions have slight variations in the design of the air intake opening. The Z9’s rear has a traditional sedan slope, with a sleeker roofline compared to the Z9 GT’s wagon design. The rear lights feature an eight-group dot-matrix design, identical to the one on the Z9 GT.
In terms of power, the Denza Z9 will be available in both pure-electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The pure electric model is equipped with three electric motors–one 230 kW motor and two 480 kW motors in the rear, for a total of 710 kW. The plug-in hybrid version has a combined motor power of 640 kW, with a 2.0T turbocharged engine providing 207 horsepower. The hybrid version offers a range of 1,100 km, while the all-electric version offers a range of 630 km.

So this one won’t have the Blade Battery 2 like the Yangwang U7?
What a mess the BYD people make…
Blade battery 2 is not even officially launched. They will introduce it with their most premium brand and then introduce it to the lower end models. Plus they haven’t even revealed the platform that’s going to be used in this model.
