Changan’s Deepal S05 enters market starting from 16,900 USD

On October 20, Changan’s Deepal S05 was officially launched in China, offering EV and EREV variants. Its delivery is expected to start immediately.

Deepal’s 300,000th vehicle delivery ceremony

At the same time, at the launch conference, Deepal held a delivery ceremony for its 300,000th vehicle. The Deepal brand was launched in April 2022.

The Deepal S05 adopts the brand’s “interstellar flying wing” design and is available in five exterior paint colors to choose from. The length, width, and height of the Deepal S05 are 4620/1900/1600 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2880 mm.

The car’s Deepal 4K intelligent gimbal camera has 64G storage space and can store about 21,000 photos or 12 hours of video.

The 1.3 million pixels intelligent headlight can create a 120-inch screen projection effect, with the help of the Huawei xPixel.

The entire series is equipped with five high-definition cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars as the standard to realize advanced driving assistance functions including adaptive cruise control, lane centering control, and intelligent parking assist.

Other elements include a high-strength steel-aluminum body and six airbags.

The EREV variant is powered by a 1.5L range-extender system consisting of a 72 kW (97 hp) range extender and a 160 kW (215 hp)/320 Nm rear electric motor, paired with a 27.28 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a 200 km CLTC pure electric range. The CLTC comprehensive range is 1,234 km, the top speed is 175 km/h, and the 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.9 seconds. Under fast charging, it takes 20 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%.

The EV variant is powered by a 175 kW (235 hp)/320 Nm rear electric motor, coupled with a 56.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a 510 km CLTC range. The top speed is 180 km/h and the 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.3 seconds. 3C fast charging is also supported. It takes 15 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%.

The interior is offered in three colors: orange, blue, and gray. The cockpit features a 15.4-inch 2.5K central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, an AR-HUD, and a D-shaped steering wheel. The vehicle operating system is supported by the Deepal OS 3.0.

The center console has two layers and comes with a 13 L temperature insulated storage container.

Additionally, there are 35 storage spaces throughout the vehicle, a 1.9m2 panoramic sunroof, a rear air-conditioning vent, 64-color ambient lights, a 14-speaker sound system, an 8-way electric adjustable driver seat (with lumbar support), a queen co-pilot seat, and 50W wireless charging.

The EV variant has an additional 159 L front trunk and 492 L rear trunk storage space.
