Only days after Zeekr unveiled camouflaged photos of its first mid-sized 7X SUV, more photos have been released. The SUV’s design is consistent with the Zeekr 007 (see specs) and features an anticipated 800V electrical architecture capable of over 700 km range.

The letter X indicates it belongs in Zeekr’s SUV series. The 7X SUV is larger than the compact Zeekr X SUV. It is designed with a golden ratio of 0.618, frequently observed in nature to create visually pleasing compositions.

It introduces a range of innovative design elements. These include a continuous interactive light strip at the front, lower headlamp clusters, and a roof equipped with laser radar for advanced driver-assistance systems. Its profile showcases concealed door handles, while the rear sports a near-continuous taillight design with Zeekr’s new super red LED technology, all contributing to a sleek and futuristic look.

The 7X stands on the PMA2+ platform, derived from the SEA modular architecture. It features dimensions of 4825/1930/1656 mm and a wheelbase of 2925 mm. Meanwhile, the Zeekr 007 measures 4880/1900/1448 mm with a wheelbase of 2928 mm.

The SUV is powered by high-performance silicon carbide motors, supporting lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium batteries. This battery choice emphasizes Zeekr’s focus on reducing resistance to enhance energy efficiency and performance, setting it apart from competitors using different battery technologies.

The entry-level model adopts Geely’s “Golden Brick” LFP battery, which can charge 500 km in a range of 15 minutes thanks to its high-voltage 800V system. Higher-end variants will offer a ternary NMC battery developed by CATL, with powertrains similar to those of the 007 sedan.

Inside, the 7X mirrors the minimalist cockpit design of the Zeekr 007, featuring a curved instrument panel, a floating center screen, and a newly styled steering wheel.

The 7X, priced between 240,000 and 350,000 yuan (33,000 and 48,200 USD), will be introduced by the end of the year to compete closely with the upcoming Xiaomi MX11 SUV and other models in the evolving electric SUV market, including the Tesla Model Y, Li Auto L6, and Onvo L60.

  1. Question is, if it will compete in price? In design, a Dacia can compete with Tesla….but the price is the key point
