NIO will make another 50 cars that everyone can order, if you have 1.48 million dollars to spare. For that cash you will get what the company calls the “fastest electric car in the world”.

Te NIO EP9 is powered by four motors, one on each wheel, and each motor has its own gearbox. Combined output is a massive 1360 horses. It does 0-100 in 3 seconds, 0-200 in 7.1 seconds, and it has a 313 km/h top speed. A full charge takes only 45 minutes and range is an impressive 427 kilometers.

The investor cars do not have any radars, indicating they will not get the fully autonomous mode.

The silver car is stunning, showing its lines even better than the blue cars. But what about red..? LED lights are a work of art.

  1. Hard proof! They actually built it – 6 cars. Well, I respect that. Great work!

So, when this very advanced technology can be developed, produced and delivered to customers, the next question naturally will be; When will we have the normal Chinese Electric cars in the rest of the world? We are waiting.

Regarding range on electric cars, GM/Opel has now launched this calculator (in German):
