Geely’s Lynk & Co 01 petrol-powered SUV discount increased to 40,000 yuan (5,680 USD) in China as Chinese customers give preference to NEVs. The starting price of this crossover after subsidies is 127,800 yuan (18,150 USD).
Lynk & Co is a joint brand between Geely and Volvo launched in 2017. The 01 SUV became the first Lynk & Co-branded model. It has also become the first vehicle for overseas markets. In China, the petrol-powered Lynk & Co 01 was updated in April this year. However, its sales volume is low. From April to August 2024, Lynk & Co sold 3,476 units of this SUV, down 55.4% Y-O-Y.
There is a growing trend for new energy vehicles in China, especially for PHEVs. They are taking away market share from ICE cars like the petrol-powered Lynk & Co 01. So, automakers are forced to offer steep discounts on their ICE products.
Lynk & Co 01 discount increased in China
The Lynk & Co 01 discount event time is October 1-31. Its car purchase subsidy reaches 40,000 yuan (5,680 USD). It consists of a 12,000 yuan (1,700 USD) cash subsidy, a 19,000 yuan (2,700 USD) trade-in subsidy, a 1,000 yuan (140 USD) coupon, etc. Other benefits include a lifetime car warranty and on-road help for the first owner.
After all discounts, the starting price of the Lynk & Co 01 is 127,800 yuan (18,150 USD). Its manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 155,800 – 196,800 yuan (22,100 – 27,930 USD). So, not all discounts can be applied to the entry-level car. However, a 28,000 yuan (3,970 USD) discount is still impressive for this class.
