On October 9, Geely officially launched its Geome Xingyuan EV, available in five trims and two series, namely, Xingyuan and Xingyuan Up, with a price range of 69,800 – 98,800 yuan (9,900 – 14,000 USD). Two CLTC cruising ranges are offered: 310 km and 410 km.
At the launch conference, Geely also announced that the Geome line will merge into Geely Galaxy as a smart boutique car series.
For the exterior, the Geely Geome Xingyuan is round and cute. The official claimed that the design is inspired by a “smile”.
The dimensions are 4135/1805/1570 mm, with a 2650 mm wheelbase, and can seat five people as the standard.
The power for the 310 km range trims comes from a 58 kW (78 hp)/130 Nm 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive motor; and for the 410 km range trims is 85 kW (114 hp)/150 Nm. The moose test speed is 75 km/h and the top speed can reach 140 km/h. The 0 – 50 km/h acceleration time is 3.9 seconds. Both models are equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery packs supplied by CATL, with a capacity of 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh, respectively, paired with Geely’s Shendun battery safety system.
Both slow and fast chargings are supported. Under fast charging, it takes 21 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%. A 3.3 kW external discharge function is also supported.
In terms of safety, advanced driving assistance functions such as adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking are present.
Inside, the cockpit adopts a symmetrical layout, equipped with an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel and a multi-function steering wheel as standard. Depending on the trims, two central control screen sizes are offered: 10.1-inch or 14.6-inch. Additionally, Geely’s self-developed Galaxy Flyme Auto is deployed here, which comes with a mobile digital map from Alibaba’s Amap, HiCar/CarLink connection, 50 W wireless fast charging, and a voice assistant.
Other configurations include remote control, 256-color ambient lights, OTA updates, keyless entry, four speakers, driver seat 6-way manual adjustment, and co-pilot seat 4-way manual adjustment.
Furthermore, there are 36 storage spaces throughout the vehicle, including a 70 L front trunk, a 10 L glove box, and a 20 L storage compartment below the center console. The rear trunk’s standard volume is 375 L and can be expanded to 1320 L after folding down the rear seats, accommodating 17 20-inch suitcases.
It would be nice to see what the interior looks like with the OPEN rear hatch and the seats down. Views of the whole interior also.
