On October 11, after the Denza N9 SUV without camouflage appeared in the UK yesterday, BYD released the official images of the Denza N9. The Denza N9 is a full-size flagship SUV built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and is expected to launch later this year with pure electric and plug-in hybrid variants to compete with models such as the Li Auto L9 and the Aito M9.

For the exterior, the front face is layered with multiple lines. The Denza logo is domineering at the center. At the same time, a roof lidar is visible, and the external side mirrors adopt a flat design, which is expected to be digital. From the side, the body outline is square, paired with hidden door handles and multi-spoke rims.

Earlier in July, a Chinese blogger “Ramen Master” rendered the Denza N9 based on road test spy photos. Compared with the official images, the front face design is not too far off.

In terms of power, the official said the Denza N9 adopts BYD’s e3 “Yisanfang” three-electric-motor system, consisting of a front AC asynchronous motor, a rear left permanent magnet synchronous motor, and a rear right permanent magnet synchronous motor. The maximum power is 230 kW (308 hp), 240 kW (322 hp), and 240 kW, respectively. Independent steering of the rear dual motors is supported.

Furthermore, based on the camouflaged official images with slogans, we learned that the Denza N9 is 5.3 meters long and will come with a smart cockpit, advanced assisted driving functionalities, and an onboard refrigerator that supports both cooling and heating.

In August 2023, Denza revealed its product plan to launch eight new models within the next three years, including three SUVs (N7, N8, & N9), D9, a higher-end MPV, and three mid-to-high-end sedans. The Denza N7 (see spec here), N8 (see spec here), and D9 (see spec here) are currently on sale.
