As can be expected, the sedan version is largely similar to the Denza Z9 GT. The wheelbase is exactly the same at 3125 mm. However, in terms of other dimensions the sedan is a bit bigger at 5235, 1990 and 1500 mm (l/w/h), which compares to 5195/1990/1480 mm for the PHEV version of the GT. It should be noted that the PHEV versions of both the Z9 and Z9 GT are larger than the EV versions due to bigger fenders. For the fully electric GT version, the length is 5180 mm, whereas with the sedan, it is 5220 mm. Curb weight for the PHEV is 2780 kg, while for the EV it is 2895 kg. Buyers have a choice between 20 and 21-inch wheels. Like the Z9 GT, the rear axle of the Z9 should be able to turn up to 20 degrees. In the case of the Denza Z9 GT, this results in a turning radius of just 4.62 meters, and the Z9 should achieve a similar result.

Up until the B pillar, the sedan Z9 looks nearly identical with the Z9 GT. As with the GT, the front face of the PHEV and all-electric versions are slightly different, with the PHEV looking overall more aggressive. From the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology listing, we can see that the front fender area will accommodate Lidar units in at least some versions of the Z9. There is also the option for the side view mirrors to be replaced by cameras.

The PHEV version uses the BYD479ZQA 2.0 T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 152 kW. Three electric motors are used: a front TZ210XYD unit with a peak power of 200 kW and two TZ220XYAV units, each with 220 kW positioned on the rear right and left wheels. The range is likely to be the same or very similar to that of the station wagon Z9 GT at 1100 km.

There are also three electric motors powering the EV version. At the front is a 230 kW YS230XYA motor whereas both the rear wheels get 240 kW TZ220XYAW motors. All the motors are produced by BYD and the car uses the lithium iron phosphate blade battery from BYD subsidiary FinDreams. The EV version uses the e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform. Range for the EV is 630 KM.

The car is already on pre-sales with prices of 339,800-419,800 yuan (47,900 – 59,150 USD) and will launch in the fourth quarter.
